Yeah I seem to be getting the same issues. Also at the minute even noe whne the site is quiet the pages dont load everytime, they are only qorking say 1 in 3 attempts. Possibly the load on the server has increased but not by BB users, possibly something else being hosted on the server aswell more forums or games etc.

Possibly the donations suggested in another thread could be be put towards a resolution. ( I find it a mega pain in the ass when trying to post quickly from the office or the mobile)

Though contactingthe Forum host might be an easy resolution, never known it tobe before lol but the server has been great for sometime and only recently have the problems under a light BB load gotten worse.

i should imagine with all our posts there is a lot of data to store. i think some servers are much more expensive than others. i guess admin can only pay for the best server they can afford on the money the site probably makes.

Its absolutely terrible for me. I click a button, it starts pretending to laod a page and then nothing happens...7 out of 8 attempts.

It worse the days I post pictures of the Fetlz, so maybe its some sort of punishment.

Sorry guys, the current server can't handle the load/traffic.

I'm currently in the process of sorting us out with a dedicated server.

Martin, thanks for the response, don't want to keep droning on, but I'm finding the site impossible to use at the moment.

I'm making posts that are not appearing, taking so long to upload posts that I have done doublers with 5 minutes between.

Oh, I know mate... It's doing my head in too.

It will be sorted soon. I'm in the process of organising it.

Martin, I'm more than willing to contribute to BB if it would help at all towards the server situation. Possibly setup a contribute button somewhere linking to a paypal donation account or that. I would be more than happy to make monthly contributions to BB to help ease the running costs. I know from prior experience that running a high traffic site, nevermind a high traffic forum based site that the banners / ads don't cover even half of the costs.

Anything that I can do to help with the site just let me know. I'm sure there are others that feel the same as myself. Its not fair if the Admin's are suffering the financial burden when they do most of the running of the site as well.

You're both top men Gareth and WelshDevilRob (thread: http://www.boxingbanter.com/viewtopic.php?t=20884)

Don't worry about the financial side of BoxingBanter.com, though. I do MASSIVELY appreciate your sentiments.

I've never felt like anyone owes me, Seer, or the mods for the running of the website. And I (and the mods) would feel more uncomfortable taking money off people for the general running, anyhow. The website was built for boxing enthusiast that want to discuss boxing with like-minded fans, and avoid the silliness that goes on many boxing forums.

I remember the idea for this place was started when I was posting on another forum where there were no rules. A typical thread was, eg. a picture of a wheelchair being posted with the title, 'Calzaghe will need one of these when Lacy's through with him!'. The Admin/Mods not only did nothing about it, they joined in with the inappropriate jeering.

This website maybe going through it a little problem with speed at the minute, but I can assure you it'll be fixed very soon. Damn that traffic!

Thanks, very kind offer, but the mods and I are ok. Money's not the problem. Software and bandwidth are our problem at the mo,.... ;)

Have a hard time getting into the site lately, never mind the actual posting in it. Also the site does not remember me anymore so i have to log in everytime i get in, and no i've not changed my cookies.

Only thing i do with cookies is to eat them or give them to Santa Claus.
