You will se Dominguez with his hands wide apart, a Oscar De La Hoya stance. Dangerous. A big reason For Raheem not getting stopped much is his defense.

He sways, stays outside and is light on his feet. The first step to a clean defense is footwork. never stop beding your knees, sway and feint. keep your right hand high. Never put your body into a punch. defensive fighters place their punches at the taget, not through it. to get the KO, most defensive fighters counterpunch. Mayweather throws his check-left hooks and straight right but keep balenced.

Raheem throws a beast of a left hook, underneath Dominguez's jab at 2:48 to KO him.

They always throw in combination, and wide shots hamper your defense.

Here is a defensive Strategy anylisation.

Cross:

Used By: Archie Moore, Cliff Couser, Joe Frazier and Ken Norton.

Sets up offense by: Covers your whole head, and can be used with decent effects with one hand while your punching.

Defense wise: Risky. Openings are more common and the body is wide open to be pounded.

Analysis: Risky. Practice constantly in sparring before trying.

Shoulder Roll:

Used By: James Toney, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Benny Leonard, Zahir Raheem.

Sets up offense: Helps put power into counter punches and lets you see easier as you aren't holding you hands in front of your eyes.

Defense Wise: Timing is essential. Never drop your hands completely and keep on balence, or you will get knocked down and out.

Analysis: if you have good balence and speed, then you need not worry about getting hit. but like i said, timing is essential, and if you get it will make you pay.

Basic high Guard:

Used by: most fighters.

Sets up offense: it is hands high so you can see but also move, unlike the cross defense. straight shots flow easy.

Defense wise: basic and reliable. Push straight shots aside then you have nio worries, as hooks are soaked up by gloves. keepmoving your head and legs, or its no use.

Analysis: counters don't flow easy but that aside, it is reliable is an old cortina!

If anyone want s videos of their fights dissected and analysed then i wil be happy. anything to help, i just want to be a great guy! 8)
