This fight never happend, both men claim it is because that no one offered decent money.
Nortonīs chin wasnīt the best but Frazier was open to shots.
I say it is dependant on tactics. If Frazier left hooks to the body he can open Nortonīs very tight guard. Frazier should consider the upper cut up the middle following the hook to the body.

Norton needs to box from distance, jab and step to the side, moving away from the hook.

Very differcult to call this one. I donīt think Norton was a good enough boxer to hold frazier off and Nortonīs is vunerable, i say Frazier inside nine rounds, but weīll never know how Frazier would have coped with Frazierīs style.

I think the cross arm defence style of Ken Norton would have been his downfall by midway through the fight. Joe would have lashed left hooks into Kens ribs until those arms dropped just enough to double up from rib to chin, and goodnight Norton.

This is why Norton / Ali was a great match up, Ali was a useless body puncher, which made Ken's crossarm defence such hard work for the head hunting Ali.

Cheers Kimmy.

To be fair though I'm loathe to criticise the great man as he is as near to a God in my eyes as you can get. So I should have pointed out that when he started out as Clay he had such hand and foot speed for a LH / Heavy he didn't need to worry about body punching. The forced diabolically political lay off did for him I'm afraid.
