my word here's an interesting fight
as voluntaries go its a decent one IMO, youth vs experience, boxer vs puncher, england - scotland, what more do you want eh?
Appleby has to start favourite, bigger man and younger etc, bigger puncher too
however he's never fought anyone remotely in Esh's class- not remotely IMO, Esh in sklill terms is lightyears ahead of a simpson etc- i will be interested to see how he deals with it if Esh can mess him around for 5-6 rounds. does he get impatient and ragged, as he sometimes can? does he tire himself trying for the early k.o? (i think he might do..) we haven't seen Appleby's chin checked yet to my knowledge, esh ain't a big puncher but 'its the oens you don't see that hurt' and esh's counterpunching is excellent, the cat would truly be among the pigeons if PA got knocked down
esh is a superbantam but big at the weight and coming up may even help him a little bit. he's open to the straight right hand Kev will tell you, but IMO Appleby's ain't that sharp and quick its more an overhand powerhouse shot.
so many questions, can Esh's legs carry him through 12 if he is on his bike a lot, how well can he take the big shots of a true puncher at 126, etc etc?
gotta call this 60/40 in PA's favour or maybe more like 80/20 i may be being generous cos i always liked Esh, like kev said tyo me he has nothing to lose and i hope thei mpetus of fighting such a dangerous opponnent- to me he has looked under-motivated facing recent, slightly less talented opposition- i hope it brings out the best in Esh.

When will we see
ill join in with u m8
O flower of Scotland
When will we see
Your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again |

appleby late stoppage I believe.
Pickering hasn't looked his best lately, if it was him in his prime though it would be a total different kettle of fish imo |

Perhaps he's thinking one last chance against a good fighter see if he's still got him, if he hasn't its one last decent payday and maybe call it a day? |

| Appleby 5-8, Pickering might do ok early doors but think he'll get worn down, he's been getting hurt by light punchers & I dont think the extra weight will do him any good in that department as in not having to lose the last few lbs. |

| I have noticed that Pickering has changed his style, he tends to kind of grind out wins, rather than box and move, probably to counter the fact that his reflexes have slowed |
