I don�t think Hopkins will get stopped because he wouldn�t put himself in the position to get stopped. I see Palvik winning on points. As old as Hopkins is i saw no signs of old over night Vs Calzaghe and his defense is outstanding. Palvik is a good puncher and in his prime but i don�t think he�ll stop Hopkins. Palvik on points I think is the most likely result of this.

I dont think itll make a difference... this waiting of having THE heavyweight champ doesnt make sense to me... or any other division......

Who we recognize as #1 is whats important.... it just seems coincidentally that the best of the best are heavyweight champs at the moment (although that can be argued).

I agree totally, but if Vitali wins there is a risk of it holding up the WBC title, he may retire or get injured etc... I just don�t think Vitali will contribute anything to the division at this stage. The fight i really want to see and the only one that makes sense at this stage is a Peter Vs Wlad rematch.

Got to be Tarver Jones 2, partly because Im too young and too short a time a proper boxing fan to have witnessed several of the others.

When RJJ beat Woods and started talking Ruiz or the heavyweights, everyone talked about Tarver as the copout option hed take instead. Roy went to heavy, beat Ruiz, came down, tried to get Tarver replaced as top contender, failed and Tarver beat him from pillar to post. Roy somehow scraped the decision, and a lot of people were saying it was a fluke - that Jones just had a bad night. Second time around, no mistakes, sympathy for Mr Vengeance.

Calzaghe gets credit for ruining Lacy, Tarver gets credit for nothing more than opportunism, as if Roy Jones somehow knocked himself out.

Im a pro evo man... however, fifa have raised the bar... i really quite like it. First game i have gotten into in a long while, tried GTA, Metal Gear.. none of them really intrested me.. so EA has done something special with this one.

Hopefully pro evo can match it and do it over as i cant admit to "the fifa bum boys" that it is better than pro.

i saw jorge teron fight a few months ago and was quite impressed. tall (six foot according to boxrec) lightweight, good amateur pedigree and power to boot.

ive just got a feeling that this will be the fight when age catches up with hopkins. remember, pavliks 26. hopkins latest fights have been against a 36 year old joe calzaghe, a 35 year old winky wright and a 37 year old antonio tarver. take out taylor and most of his opponents have been around their mid 30s of late. his last opponent other than taylor still in their 20s was felix trinidad.

i also dont think pavliks age will neccesarily mean inexperience. even if he loses he keeps his belts so thats not a concern. hes had 34 fights and got off the deck to win the world title when he was so near to a second round demolition. hes topped the bill in atlantic city and vegas. and hopkins isnt a scary guy in the edison miranda mode. pavliks not going to be worried about getting beaten up.

for all the talk about hopkins being a wonderful physical speciman for his age, something of a freak of nature indeed, i just cannot see a man whos only three months off his 44th birthday lasting the distance AND outboxing a man nearly 20 years his junior whos also a massive puncher. i think hopkins will frustrate pavlik early but will not be able to avoid getting tagged, and this will happen more often as the fight goes on. and i believe pavlik will stop him.

Hopkins is not a big puncher, but lets just imagine that he nails Pavlik with a sweet counter right during the fight. Pavlik showed against Taylor that he has great powers of recovery and i just cant see a 43 yr old Hopkins having the follow up to force the referee to stop the fight with Pavlik hurt. Hopkins lost his fights with Taylor and Calzaghe mainly due to an extremely low output of punchers, it certainly wasnt because he was outclassed by either Taylor or Calzaghe. Once again i expect Hopkins to suffer badly from his low output over 12 rds. Without any knockdown he will have to win 7 out of 12 rds against an extremely fresh young fighter at the top of his game. I dont see this happening. Imo Pavlik UD 116-112 ish.
