i heard this on five live when i was driving to work today. just about caught the end of it, but he didn't have a clue. his argument seemed to be 'i don't want women to box but i'm too stupid to say why.' richard bacon (i think it was him) questioned khan pretty hard and made him look like a bit of a clown.

also, i hate the way boxers, and indeed other sportsmen, often take the position of assuming non-participants don't have a clue about the sport and aren't able to comment. khan kept saying to the presenter 'have you ever boxed' as though it made a difference. you don't even need to have seen a fight in your life to know that this debate is about equality and libertarianism, basically allowing consenting adults to do what they want as long as everyone involved is happy, as opposed to being about boxing itself.

Khan " Women get KO'ed easily"

Umm what did Prescott do to you then ? shake your hand ?

I can't wait for the women to get a chance to showcase their boxing talents. I have been a fan of womens boxing for years and am really happy to see it included as an olymipic sport now. Most of the decent female Ama's ended up giving up boxing as there is not the same money in the Pro ranks for them as their is males unless they go to Thailand, Japan etc to fight at low weights.

There are some brilliant Ama boxers that hung up the gloves due to lack of fights, money/sponsorship and exposure etc. Alana Audley for one, gave up and joined the army. Maybe Chris Bessey can help get her ready to try for a place on the GB or IRE squad (tho reckon GB as she is in Eng at the minute)

I tried to back Katie Taylor for a Gold today but the bookies wont take bets yet. Shes worth a few quid for a Gold for Ireland. Currently 60 - 1, Worlds champ twice and Euro 3 times I think.

heard it on five live today. i have always thought that khan was a bit thick in previous interviews and this was a great example of that.

the guy may be a decent boxer however the guy is as thick as two short planks! fwank should just stick to the sky sports interviewers.

the guy is as thick as pig shit. i can see why thedon2006 had such an empathy with the guy!!

I like Khan i think he is a nice lad and a talented boxer............... but i must be honest..................... hes a bit of a numb c*** isn't he.

I have always felt this way when hearing his interviews, he seems to become befuddled when asked questions and often ends up contradicting himself.

Its never a good idea when thick people (especially high profile thick people) choose to get involved on a controversial subject, they will constantly be bombarded with questions that make them seem like buffoons. Although Khan is trying to make a valid point he does not have the intelligence to back it up.

Personally i am all for womens boxing, Good luck to them i say, in the past i have myself have been called sexist for my views or behaviours so i can sympathise with Khan in away here as i do not think he had bad intentions.

Working at woolworths i had said to the manager i would not mop or clean as it was womans work and not part of my job as a sales assistant.

They retorted "well everyone here does there fair share, even the manager cleans from time to time".

to which i replied "well next time you guys need any heavy stuff in the basement lifted and moved around you can do it then eh rather than asking me for any manual job there is"

you better believe i was never asked to clean again

so i can sort of see what Amir is saying about women and men having there own palce and stuff, BUT if they want to do it then let them

Good luck to our boxing women

This post is as just as bad as Amir's interview. Perhaps even a little worse, actually.

Ive always said I dont like Khan, But...

This has made me like Khan more, as now I feel bad for him.
I think he is thinking the same as me, and wouldn't really like to see two women beating each over up.

I dont think he is stupid, just couldn't really cope with him asking all those questions.

WHY? because i felt i was being unfairly treat so said something about it.

It was Sexist of them to ask me (the only male in the place) to do all the heavy lifting and manual labour work ............... one day they even had me sawing and fitting shelves in the office, Im sure that isn't part of being a sales assistant. If everyone did a fair share why did they not do heavy lifting ...........

If women want to box then they should be allowed, i'm all for equality

However, I wont be watching, seeing women hit each other or act aggressively makes me feel uncomfortable

I think the one thing we can agree on is that Khan isn't the shaprest tool in the shed

If women want equal rights (which i do feel they should have) then surely they should be able to do hard work if we are expected to clean

But you didn't object or refuse when they asked you to do that, obviously. So you've already gone beyond the terms of your contract. I would have no objection if you hadn't made the point about it being 'women's work'.

If the other staff are not physically capable of heavy lifting, it's not unreasinable of them to ask you to do it - or if the female staff said it wasn't part of their contracts.

But you are physically capable of cleaning, and that's more likely to be part of your contract.

If it isn't, then stick to the terms of your contract and nothing else.

I honestly didn't mind the sawing as it took me away from the boring job i was doing on the counter, as for the cleaning no that was not part of my contract which was my main argument to my boss. which was followed up with my womens work argument.

Also can i please mention to the other members that if my views seem outdated it is only because i come form The UKs most outdated and politically incorrect place. Cumbria.
