Two things: southpaw stance and speed.

I watched Mayweather-Judah the other day when I had some spare time (which is probably the best comparison you'll get). I forgot just how lost Mayweather was against Judah in the first 5 rounds. Mayweather couldn't deal with any space between them because Judah was landing almost every shot with ease, so Mayweather was diving forward and just holding on. Jim Lampley started making jokes and referring to Floyd Mayweather as 'John Ruiz'. Mayweather couldn't see the punches coming because of the speed they were coming at him, and the angles (southpaw) they were coming from.

Judah is a notorious front runner, but falls apart as the fight goes on. It's evident throughout his entire career. Pacquiao is a southpaw with as much speed and power, but minus the psychological frailties and an ability to fight 100% for all 3 minutes of all 12 rounds. Sure, Pacquiao will be giving away weight, size, strength, etc, against Mayweather.. But that southpaw stance and that speed will overcome.

Agreed

Mayweather was weak in that fight. If Judah wasn't so fragile he would have won. Judah hurt him too.

Fights never play out like you think they will but it give me a lot of hope that Pac could take it one step further and beat Mayweather.

I personally think that Pac punches harder than Judah too, plus his chin is far superior.

Aside from Marquez, who rcently has done anywhere near well enough to hit him on the chin? He could be chinny as fuck but fighting the likes of Oscar Larios you'd never find out.

Why would you use Oscar Larios as thee only example, considering you could have used bigger punchers as examples, i.e,. Morales, Barrera, Hatton, De La Hoya?

Spite, mainly

But seriously - Hatton, sparked immediatelym, DLH, barely able to lift his arms, Morales shot to bits in two of their three fights, Larios not a puncher at the best of times, much less at the higher weight, etc etc. Marquez is one of the few opponents he's had who's been in any way effective against him - thus how the hell do we know what his chin's like?

He might be chinny, who knows? He's not all that easy to tag thesedays. I remember the after the Pacquiao-Barrera II landslide, in the post fight interview Barrera said that it was Pacquiao's defence that was Manny's biggest assett.

According to that logic though then Martin, Pacquiao should be able to handle Cotto as well because Judah wobbled and hurt Cotto early in their fight too.

Errr no, because Judah buzzed Cotto with a shot, Cotto re-couped and got back to work quickly. Cotto didn't get out boxed by Judah and need to hold on for 5 rounds. You can't compare a single punch to 5 rounds worth of action.

Manny hasn't had one fight at 147 yet. I think his power will still be exceptional, but not so sure about his chin. He can make his muscles bigger but his skull isn't changing any. Besides, Mayweather is a sharp but not overpowering puncher so it's not such a big factor in any possibly Manny-Money fight. It will be a factor against Cotto, so let's use that as a guide.

You thought that Ricky Hatton would beat Mayweather aswell, Martin.

The only man who stands a realistic chance of beating Floyd at 147 is Paul Williams (assuming he can make the weight and be 100%) and that's mainly due to his size.

Paul Williams beats Mayweather easy. He can make the weight - Floyd or Shane or Cotto won't fight him.

My prediction for Floyd v William would be Williams UD.

Floyd would beat Pacman.

My views on who Floyd should fight next

Sadly it looks like Williams v Martinez is a done deal so he won't be next in line, is Floydy going to (shock horror) take an easy opponent?...
