Aye, both fighters signed a clause or something for a warmup bout... both scheduled to happen on the same night ^^.

What weight will this fight be at? Ornelas is basically a middle/super-middle.

If both Jones and Hopkins win their bouts, they'll have a rematch, 16 years after their first fight. How many other rematches have taken place 16 years later? That's got to be some type of record.

Let's hope they don't decide on a trilogy.

After his Pavlik performance, I'm more than a little gutted that Hopkins is going down this path. Worthwhile matches, I'm sure, are difficult to make for him, but still...does anyone want to see this rematch?

Dan Rafael on espn reckons the only reason Jones-Hopkins is happening is because neither of them are willing to get in the ring with Chad Dawson. He's probably right.

I don't care for this fight either, but Hopkins is 44! What are we to expect from him?

It also wouldn't surprise me if he made more money for fighting Jones than he would for fighting Dawson.

That is right, and Hopkins said a year ago that he probably won't fight Dawson because he doesn't want to fight the new generation guys, and I don't think he was saying that to be a jerk, but it's good that he won't beat them, retire, and leave the division as a mess.

I don't think too highly of Dawson at all, but his speed would probably beat Hopkins.

I'm really hoping Hopkins beats Jones, but Jones still has decent hand speed and Hopkins doesn't exactly unload punches.

Not just his speed Riz. Dawson also has a little advantage of being 17 years younger than Hopkins. People talk as if Hopkins will go on forever without losing any fighting assets. Speed, endurance, stamina etc..

I can see Jones beating Hopkins again for the very reason you have given.
