Dawson: "Making 168lbs is no problem, I never had any problem making 175.
Sometimes I came in at 172 or 173. Making 168 is not that difficult for me.
I think it's a great idea. If Jermain Taylor does happen to drop out, I'd love
    to take his spot."

Interesting - a lot stronger fighter than a lot of other options. I wonder if one or two of the current fighters might veto it though?

I doubt Taylor will dro out and it would leave them open to issues over the points gained, when he will effectively have to pick up Taylor's KO loss in the opening fight, and all his future opponents will have to face a tougher, bigger opponent, making Arthur's opening 3 points a bit of a sham.

It is interesting that there is the potential of a BETTER calibre of fighter coming in as a replacement, as it very rarely goes down that way.

Like I say though, I highly doubt Taylor will leave the tourney as he is contracted to it now and his career will effectively be over if he doesn;t recouperate from the losses and his next fight against Ward should be make or break.

Also, there has been a fair bit of betting on the tournament, and I don;t know if this would void any tournament winner bets placed for example when there is a new entry?
I would fancy Dawson's chances of winning and would put it between Kessler and Dawson for outright winner...with Dawson a fight behind though the chances are that they could meet in the semis if it did ever happen as he'll need to rack up a couple of wins.

Besides the all politics that Brook has pretty much already touched upon, I agree its a promising gesture and gives Dawson a couple of kudos from my bank.

Good sport!

Interesting situation, and yeah a bit contrversal beccause Dawson would i assume inherit Taylor´s KO loss on the statistics.
But if he were to be successful he´d pick up a super middle weight title along the way ( assuming he defeated one of the champs ) and because of his late entry the fans would know how good he was regardless of the tournement if he were to win Taylor´s remaining fixtures.

I think BB is spot on and it would be a shame to see someone come in at this stage. That said if Taylor gets sprarked again then Im not sure what they would do.

If Dawson wanted in then his team should have worked harder from the off to get him involved.

Yeah exactly, an unfair advantage now that you've seen four of them fight.
