    Paul McCloskey secures European light-welterweight title

    Paul McCloskey secured a comfortable win over Spaniard Daniel Rasilla
    in their European light-welterweight title fight in Magherafelt on Friday
    night, the referee stopped the contest after 2:15 of the ninth round
    at the Meadowbank Arena.

He is very good McCloskey. He's definitely a class above domestic level. Whether he's truly World level, who knows? He's a clever fighter and is the kind of guy I could imagine causing an upset if he ever does get a shot at a World title. He'd probably get underestimated.

So is the M'Baye fight not happening at all now? Would have been a good name for McCloskey to get on his record as I'm pretty sure he'd have beaten him.

Apparently not, looks like he's fighting Giuseppe Lauri next, don't know where or when though.

Good fighter McCloskey. I think hes got a bright future ahead of him.

He lacks the power to truely become a Word Title fighter but I can see him challenging somewhere down the line.
