Former world title challenger Tony "The Punching Postman" Thornton died Thursday following complications from a motor cycle accident in Camden, New Jersey on August 30.
The 49 years-old, who died at the Cooper University Hospital, fought for the world on three occasions, losing each time-to Roy Jones Jnr (tko 3) in 1995, James Toney (pts 12) in 1993 and Chris Eubank (pts 12) in 1992.
In a 12 year career from 1983 to 1995, the full time postman claimed the USBA super-middleweight title and finished up with an impressive 37 wins, 7 defeats and one draw. _________________
