Khan:"We all rate Ricky Hatton, he is a great fighter. Perhaps he took that extra step fighting Manny Pacquiao. That's boxing - one punch can win a fight. But what happened to me against Prescott didn't make Prescott a better fighter than me. It was a little mistake I made and perhaps he feels like he made that mistake and he wants to correct it by coming back and showing he's not finished. I think he should come back and not walk out on his career with a defeat. It is going to be hard mentally as you're only as good as your last fight and that will be running through his mind. But I'm sure he can learn from what I went through, getting the defeat and then within a few fights coming back and being the world champion. I'm sure he can do the same. I have a lot of respect for him in that way he is not ducking anything and hopefully if he takes this guy out he'll be in with a chance for another big fight."

Until Khan proves it was "a little mistake I made", we will never know. He needs to fight Prescott again, wipe the slate clean and prove to us all what a great fighter he can be. He would earn loads of respect by doing so, getting back in the ring with the man who KO'd him in a minute and I feel he would completely outbox him. He could then beat his mandatory, Maidana, which will be no easy feat and watch Hatton fight Marquez, if he decides to make a comeback. Khan will then have proved to everyone in Britain that he deserves to be rated alongside Hatton and it will set up a massive Battle of Britain between our 2 best boxers at light-welterweight (if Hatton beats Marquez).

He really doesn;t. He got caught and went on to beat Barrera and Kotelnik, who are 10 times the fighter PRescott will ever be. Now he's making defences against Salita and then Maidan. If he beats both of those, Prescott will be deservedly forgotten.
How many people think David Haye should have gone back to Carl Thompson after beating Mormeck or Maccarinelli?

I don't see the point in this fight anymore... 9 months ago maybe. But he's beaten Barrera and Kotelnik is a world champ and is about to make his first defense... while Prescott is coming off his first loss.

Looking at the clip of Hatton, on FNF the night before Cotto Pac, and imagining him after Christmas he's going to have to half his bodyweight to fight again.
I reckon JMM will have a field day with him. He's smaller and getting on but is an accurate puncher and has been so against fighters with better defence than Ricky.
